What is Felony DUI Treatment Court? Am I Eligible to Participate?
The Felony DUI Treatment Court is a special court program open to those individuals who have three or more DUIs. Participation in this program provides an alternative sentencing model that allows participants to participate in a three to five year substance abuse program instead of a one to six year prison sentence for felony DUI.
What are the Felony DUI program requirements?
This program offers substance abuse counseling, random drug/alcohol testing and court supervision. The program will include regular drug tests, individual and group counseling, mental health counseling, weekly attendance at support group meetings, and electronic alcohol use monitoring (SCRAM monitor/ankle bracelet). Each participant will be required to install and maintain a Breath Ignition Interlock Device on each and every vehicle available to them. The Interlock Device will remain on the vehicles throughout the program.
The average time to complete this program is three years. Successful completion of the program will allow you to have your felony DUI reduced to a second offense misdemeanor DUI.
How Much Does It Cost to Participate in Felony DUI Treatment Court?
Participants will be required to pay $554.40 per month. This fee covers court costs, costs associated with mandatory house arrest, probation supervisions costs, and treatment costs. Additional costs may apply for SCRAM monitoring and Ignition Interlock Devise(s). The total costs of the program will vary based on each person’s unique circumstances.
