A transplant from the deep south, Chris now calls Las Vegas home. Chris was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate studies in the mountains of northwest Georgia at Dalton State College in Dalton, Georgia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology. Chris earned his law degree, cum laude, from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia.
While in law school, Chris focused his coursework on criminal law and procedure, litigation, and appellate practice. In addition to graduating with honors, Chris was recognized for earning the highest grade in criminal practice and procedure, pretrial advocacy, and advanced legal research. Chris’ top score in advanced legal research also allowed him to work as a teaching assistant where he helped teach legal research to first year law students.
After completing his first year in law school, Chris accepted a law clerk position with the Georgia Public Defender Council (GPDC). During his time at GPDC, Chris assisted attorneys with all aspects of indigent defense representation including bond hearings, first appearance hearings, plea negotiations as well as misdemeanor and felony jury trials.
After returning to Mercer to begin his second year in law school, Chris accepted a position with the Houston County Public Defender’s Office in Warner Robins, Georgia. Admitted to practice law under Georgia’s law student practice act, Chris spent his second and third years of law school representing indigent clients at all stages of criminal prosecution including arraignments, preliminary hearings, pleas, probation violations, motions, bench trials, and jury trials. While working as a public defender, Chris served as lead trial counsel for multiple jury trials resulting in complete acquittals for his clients.
Upon graduating from law school, Chris was recognized for his trial work during law school and was awarded the Judge Walker P. Johnson, Jr. Award for demonstrated excellence in litigation, professionalism, and ethics.
Whether you need a criminal record sealed, someone to help you negotiate a misdemeanor plea, or someone to represent you during a complex felony trial, Chris has the experience you need. No case is too small or too complex. While some attorneys try to impress you with how hard they will fight for you, nothing can beat true experience. Chris has extensive experience in criminal law and has worked with a wide variety of criminal charges including traffic violations and license offenses, theft, DUI, aggravated assault, drug possession, battery, child cruelty, and even murder.
After finishing law school, Chris relocated to Las Vegas after accepting a position with a litigation firm in Henderson, Nevada. As a law clerk, Chris worked on special investigative and insurance defense cases.
Eager to return to a practice dedicated to aggressive and effective criminal defense, Chris joined The Wright Law Group, P.C., as a law clerk, and upon passing the bar exam on his first attempt, Chris was promoted to associate attorney; and he now leads the firm’s criminal defense practice while also assisting with many other aspects of the firm’s civil and commercial litigation matters.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Amy, digital photography, and traveling. Chris is also an award-winning lighting and sound technician and enjoys working with local community theaters to produce all types of performing arts including comedies, dramas, musicals, and concerts.
